barcode not working

I got this app to try so I can inventory and catalog my video game and large movie collection because people borrow my stuff all the time. Im glad I tried it first because I could not get a single barcode to scan. All it would tell me is that barcode item could not be found. I was kind of disappointed because this app looked so promising to me.
